Egerton FC: An Inclusive Approach

As the Club enters it's biggest ever year in 2008, it does so with huge optimism, courage and no little commitment from it's many paid and unpaid helpers.

As it stands the club hosts 24 teams from U8 to U17, both boys and girls, approximately 370 registered youth and junior participants (boys and girls), 100 Saturday Club members, at least 50 adult helpers (managers, referees, treasurers and assistants), a team of experienced paid staff (coaches, site manager and admin staff) and the prospect of an improved state of the art facility. There are reasons to be optimistic with the new third generation facility on the horizon, but we need to hold a consistent approach and we need to be ambitious in the interests of our children's desire to improve.

FA charter status was achieved in 2007, an important development for Egerton. It means that the FA agrees that the club has met its best practice standard for training and development of young players, together with child protection. It allows the club to apply for grants from the FA (for example for the new facilities), but also means we are one of the few accredited clubs in the area. Parents can be confident that their children are getting the best guidance in football in the area.

Egerton’s philosophy is to provide teams for all standards and to encourage children to play competitive football for fun in an inclusive way. All teams are provided with trained coaches to allow the players to develop to their potential, but always ensuring that the game is played in the right spirit. We like to win, but it is more important that the kids enjoy themselves!

The TV was kindly donated by the CO-OP electrical shop. We have teamed up with the CO-OP who will pay Egerton Football Club a percentage of any purchase of electrical goods or beds made via the CO-OP’s internet shopping service. All you have to do is visit the CO-OP sites using one of the following links, then make your purchase as normal. The link automatically registers that you are from EFC and the CO-OP will pay the club a percentage. Well worth a look at their websites if you are buying electrical goods or a new bed!
