THE PITCH PROJECT
The
Pitch Project is now complete. The impressive improvements have
been funded by Egerton Youth Club with substantial grant support from
the FA. The pitch is a state of the art surface similar to that played
on by England in Russia. It will allow matches to be played at Egerton
when the grass pitches would be otherwise unplayable. Floodlights allow
games to be played at night and training can now take place at the club
throughout the year.Development of the project has taken several years with construction finally starting in the middle of 2009. The pitch was opened in early May and was used for the Egerton Classic.
The building renovation provides much improved access and car parking, new changing facilities, improved catering and a bar.
